Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Lance Thatcher is the Chief Information Security Officer at Unisys, establishing and maintaining our corporate-wide information security management program while working with executive management to ensure compliance with our policies, determine acceptable levels of risk and protect our assets as we serve our clients.

Lance came to Unisys in 2023 with a strong background and deep expertise in cybersecurity, applications, infrastructure and networks in global environments. Prior to joining Unisys, he was the global vice president, overseeing IT cybersecurity, enterprise architecture and quality assurance for Jacobs Engineering Group, a full spectrum professional services company, including consulting, technical, scientific and project delivery for the government and private sector. Before his time at Jacobs, he was global cybersecurity lead and Chief Technology Officer for Dyncorp International Inc., a leader in global engineering, project management and solutions integration. Earlier in his career, he led information technology for Ascent Solar Technologies and cybersecurity for Trinity Industries and Maxim Integrated Products.

As a former Captain in the United States Army, Lance served in various operational leadership roles culminating in a successful career in cybersecurity. His early military service molded his thoughts and beliefs about the importance of discipline and servant leadership. A natural born technologist, Lance is also the founder of an augmented reality wearable device startup.

Lance earned his Bachelor of Arts from Saint Leo University and a Master of Science in Systems Management from University of Southern California.
