Engaging in an Inclusive Environment
Samarthanam Trust works for the empowerment of persons with disabilities and the underserved through its diverse initiatives. Samarthanam caters to essential needs like education, accommodation, nutrition, vocational training, and placement-based rehabilitation and facilitates opportunities to enable persons with disabilities and the underserved to keep pace with the rest of the society.
Audio Book Recording Project
Since 2021, Unisys associates have converted more than 69 paperback books into other formats like Braille ready and audio files that have been used by more than 6,046 students from 16 different countries.
Cricket Coaching
Since 2022, Unisys has partnered with Samarthanam to empower 320 blind men to make them employable and economically independent through life skills such as computer skills and cricket. More than 70 men have been placed in employment since the program started.
STEM Laboratories in Government Schools
Beginning in 2023, Unisys partnered with fifteen schools to create STEM learning labs to impact more than 2,000 students on an annual basis. This program is designed to empower teachers with teaching aids and to influence stronger student academics with science, technology, engineering, and math.
Sunadha Program
Since 2020, Unisys has supported training for 40 budding disabled artists to influence their livelihood opportunities. This program enables them to have access to suitable musical instruments to practice regularly, enhance their skills, and perform at different forums to earn their livelihood and lead their lives with dignity.
