Unisys Selected to Participate in US Army Program for Cloud Hosting Services Worth Up to $247 Million
London, UK., June 14, 2017 – Unisys Corporation today announced that the U.S. Army selected the company to participate in its program for cloud hosting services work through the estimated $247 million Army Cloud Computing Enterprise Transformation (ACCENT) Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA).
The three-year ACCENT BOA will provide a vehicle for organisations within the Army to transition workloads and applications to the cloud. The vehicle also covers additional services such as security and application analysis, planning and business process reengineering.
Unisys is well positioned to participate in the program thanks to the company's leading role in successfully and securely transitioning enterprise applications to the cloud for government and private sector clients. For example, the Department of the Interior worked with Unisys to become the first U.S. federal organisation to move its financial management system to the cloud. Unisys also helped the U.S. General Services Administration fully transition its email and collaboration system to the cloud, another first for the federal government.
"We look forward to opportunities under this BOA to help the Army obtain the efficiencies and cost savings inherent in the cloud," said Jennifer Napper, group vice president for Department of Defense and intelligence agencies, Unisys Federal. "With our proven track record of helping more than 20 U.S. federal agencies successfully move to the cloud, Unisys is uniquely positioned to help the Army achieve its goal."
