Western Australia Public Trustee Extends Contract with Unisys to Support Core Client Management System

Recent enhancement of Trustee Client Management System includes the launch of the "Give2Good Foundation"

Sydney, 26 October, 2015 Unisys (NYSE:UIS) Corporation today announced that its Australian subsidiary has been awarded a one-year contract extension by the Western Australia Public Trustee to continue to provide support, maintenance and enhancements for its Management Accounting Trust Environment (MATE) application.

The Public Trustee has the responsibility for managing the legal and financial affairs of many vulnerable people in the Western Australia community. These include trust management services, deceased estate administration, executor support, financial administration and Will and Enduring Power of Attorney drafting. It manages net client assets valued at more than $1.1 billion, supporting some 5,300 active trustee clients, 100,000 registered wills and approximately 650 new deceased estates per annum. It is a statutory body that operates under the authority of the Parliament of Western Australia.

MATE has been the core enterprise application at the Western Australia Public Trustee since 2001. It was derived from a Client Information Management System (CIMS) that Unisys was engaged to modify and customise to reflect the different working practices and legislation in effect in Western Australia.

Recent enhancements to MATE include the launch of the Give2Good Community Foundation which was established in November 2014 to encourage Western Australians to "give to good" causes knowing that their charitable gifts will be invested and distributed by a professional statutory authority that will exist in perpetuity.

"The Public Trustee provides critical trust management and estate administration services primarily to Western Australians as well as a small number of clients interstate and overseas.  Unisys delivers a highly reliable client management system with the flexibility to implement functionality for new services. We have a long standing partnership that has delivered excellent outcomes over this period. They truly understand the importance of the services we provide to the Western Australia community," said Terry Hearn, Director Corporate Support, Western Australia Public Trustee.

Lysandra Schmutter, Acting Vice President and General Manager, Unisys Asia Pacific said: "Unisys is proud of its role in building and supporting the IT systems that enable the Western Australia Public Trustee to play such a critical role in managing the financial affairs of a significant number of Western Australians."
