Unisys Stealth Wins Northern Virginia Technology Council's Innovation Award for Security and Safety
Unisys Stealth was one of four finalists ultimately selected in its category to compete head-to-head for the top award at the NVTC awards event. Following presentations by company representatives and a Q&A with a panel of judges, Stealth emerged with the top award in its category.
"Security innovation will come from a variety of sources, not just from start-ups," said Tom Patterson, vice president for global security solutions, Unisys (NYSE: UIS). "Unisys is a trusted security partner for government and commercial enterprises, and the innovative Stealth solution is giving clients an upper hand in today's sophisticated threat environment. As organizations confront security challenges ranging from risks posed by insiders to advanced persistent threats, Stealth's innovative approach can help protect highly sensitive data, systems and intellectual property."
The Unisys Stealth family of products helps clients counter advanced threats and is a component of an integrated Unisys|Security portfolio of products, professional services and managed services solutions. Stealth uses advanced data protection and encryption technologies to help organizations mitigate attacks and hacker incidents by rendering devices, data and end users undetectable on the network. The solution establishes secure "communities" within an enterprise where only authorized users can access information. Unauthorized users cannot access the information -- or even see that it exists.
The Stealth(Core) offering is the software-defined technology that provides the base for a family of products: Stealth(Network), Stealth(Cloud), Stealth(Compute), and Stealth(Mobile). Stealth can be used to micro-segment the data center to reduce risks posed by insider threats, advanced persistent threats and supply chain vulnerabilities. Stealth is also used for data center consolidation, protection of legacy systems such as Microsoft Windows XP, and to protect critical workloads in the cloud. Across its many use cases, Stealth helps clients reduce risk, complexity, cost, and compliance scope.
The NVTC award follows several awards that Stealth received last year. In September 2014, Unisys Stealth won the American Business Awards People's Choice competition as well as the Silver Award in the new security software category. In May 2014, Stealth was selected for the TechAmerica Foundation American Technology Award in cybersecurity innovation.
NVTC is the largest technology council in the nation, serving about 1,000 companies and organizations, including businesses from all sectors of the technology industry, service providers, universities, foreign embassies, non-profit organizations and government agencies. Now in its fourth year, Destination Innovation is the NVTC's premier event highlighting the vibrant technology community in the region.
