Unisys Names President and CEO Peter Altabef as Chairman of the Board, Nathaniel Davis as Independent Lead Director
Altabef to also continue serving the company as president and CEO
BLUE BELL, Pa., December 12, 2017 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that its Board of Directors has elected President and CEO Peter Altabef as Chairman of the Board and Nathaniel Davis as Independent Lead Director. Both appointments are effective April 26, 2018. Altabef will also continue to serve Unisys as president and CEO.
Paul Weaver, the current Chairman of the Board, will retire from the Board on April 26, 2018 as a result of having reached the mandatory Board retirement age of 72. Weaver has served on the Board since 2010, and as Chairman since 2015. "I am proud to have served Unisys," said Weaver. "The company is in good hands, and I congratulate Peter and Nate on their new appointments."
Altabef, 58, joined Unisys in 2015 as president and CEO and member of the Board. Prior to joining Unisys, Altabef served as president and CEO of MICROS Systems, Inc., until its acquisition by Oracle. He served as president and CEO of Perot Systems Corporation until its acquisition by Dell Inc., and following that transaction served as president of Dell Services, the information technology services and business process solutions unit of Dell.
"I thank Paul for his leadership and guidance over the years," Altabef said. "Paul has served with distinction over the past seven years and his presence, both on the Board and as Chairman, will be missed. I also want to thank Nate for taking on this important role as independent lead director."
Davis, 63, joined the Board in 2011 and currently serves as the Chair of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Davis has extensive board experience including his current role as Chairman of the Board of K12 and prior board positions at XM Satellite, XO Communications and Charter Communications. "I look forward to continuing my work with Peter and our other board members and to serving in this new role," Davis said.
