Unisys Federal President Venkatapathi "PV" Puvvada Elected Vice Chair of Professional Services Council Executive Committee and Board of Directors
Puvvada selected for broad leadership role to map strategy and direction for federal technology contracting industry group
RESTON, Va., June 2, 2017 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that Venkatapathi "PV" Puvvada, president of Unisys Federal, was elected to serve as vice chair of the Professional Services Council (PSC) executive committee and board of directors.
PSC is an industry trade group that represents the interests of technology and professional services companies serving the federal government. In his new role at PSC, Puvvada will take a broad leadership role in developing and implementing the group's strategy and direction.
In December 2016, Unisys announced that Puvvada was re-elected to a new three-year term on the PSC board of directors and newly elected to serve on its executive committee.
He also was appointed to chair PSC's Civilian Agencies Council that focuses on the acquisition policies and strategies of federal civilian agencies, including the departments of Homeland Security, Veterans Affairs, Health and Human Services and Energy.
"PV has been a key contributor to PSC for years, and we are pleased he has accepted this leadership role to help guide our overall efforts to represent the companies that support the missions of U.S. federal agencies," said David Berteau, president and CEO of the PSC. "We are certain that PSC will benefit from PV's expertise, leadership and passion in this new role, and I look forward to working with him."
Beyond his work leading the U.S. federal government business for Unisys, Puvvada has received many awards and recognition for his contributions to the federal IT community working with several industry organizations. In 2015, Federal Computer Week recognized Puvvada for this work with its prestigious Eagle Award, an annual award recognizing "the best of the best" of those who have made significant contributions to federal government IT.
"I look forward to working as vice chair on the PSC executive committee and board of directors and representing the interests of member companies," Puvvada said. "I appreciate this vote of confidence from the PSC members, and I am grateful for this opportunity to play a greater role in the important work performed by the organization."
