Unisys and Mitel Team to Protect Real-Time Communications for Enterprise and Mobile Users in 47 of the Top 50 Economies
Leading communications provider to work with Unisys to provide Stealth(mobile) encryption and identity-driven segmentation to protect critical data
London UK, April 21, 2016 – Unisys Corporation announced today it is teaming with business communications leader Mitel to offer award-winning Unisys Stealth™ security to enhance the protection of critical communications for Mitel’s 60 million enterprise customers.
Under a new agreement, Unisys will provide a series of security-enabled new offerings for Mitel’s mobile and enterprise customers based on its Stealth(mobile) security product. This provides Mitel with a highly differentiated offering for security-sensitive environments and applications and can be extended to secure mobile access to other cloud enterprise applications.
This offering is designed to allow enterprises and service providers to secure mobile access to the cloud, boosting protection against security threats and data breaches. It combines the strength of Unisys Stealth’s identity-driven segmentation and encryption with Mitel’s communications leadership to allow businesses to control access to critical systems and data based on users’ identities, within the enterprise or in the cloud.
“With this new offering, Unisys Stealth(mobile) is now available to Mitel clients all over the world,” said Tom Patterson, chief trust officer for Unisys. “These new capabilities will deliver the benefits of advanced encryption as well as identity-driven segmentation techniques to minimise the damage that can result from even a successful attack.”
Unisys Stealth allows enterprises to control who can access enterprise networks based on users’ identities, while reducing the attack surface by making data and applications invisible to unauthorised users by encrypting traffic between all Stealth-protected endpoints. Even if adversaries infiltrate one micro-segment, they would not be able to move across to other parts of the enterprise environment.
The new offering with Mitel seamlessly integrates Unisys Stealth(mobile) capabilities into Mitel’s mobile communications services, allowing Mitel clients to access public networks such as the Internet with a secure encrypted call and without threat of exposure to their real-time communications.
“The growth of mobile BYOD and increase in the use of Wi-Fi for business communications pose challenges as businesses evolve to meet the demands of mobile workers and consumers,” said Terry McCabe, chief technology officer, Mitel Mobile Division. “Together, Mitel and Unisys have created the MiStealth solution to give our clients a new and more advanced security solution in a world of rapidly evolving threats.”
Unisys Stealth products are available for data centres, clouds, mobile, and SCADA devices, and are part of a comprehensive portfolio of security solutions for enterprise security including data and physical security, identity management at scale, advanced biometrics, and supply chain security. Unisys also globally delivers the full scope of managed security services and global consulting to address all aspects of its clients’ security requirements.
