Award recognises behavioural biometrics prototype that leverages customers’ unique traits to enhance the authentication process for mobile banking
London, UK, May 25, 2016 – Unisys Corporation today announced that its client Nationwide Building Society has been awarded the Retail Banking Security Innovation of the Year award for a behavioural biometrics prototype it developed with Unisys and BehavioSec to improve security and user experience for mobile banking customers.
Recognised at the Retail Banking Conference & Awards event on May 19, 2016, the prototype analyses smartphone or tablet usage to form uniquely identifiable behavioural profiles. Usage habits can include the force users use on the screen, the angles they swipe and even their typing speed. When combined with other authentication methods, the behavioural biometric profile provides an additional level of security based on the natural interaction with their smartphone or tablet.
