Phicomm Selects Cloud-Based Unisys IT Service Management Solution to Better Support IT Service Provisioning for Its Customers Across China
Unisys' Edge Service Management operated by 21Vianet provides China with a market-leading enterprise grade ITSM solution via a software-as-a-service model
BEIJING, January 28, 2015 –Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that Chinese networking and telecommunications manufacturer Phicomm has chosen the Edge Service Management by Unisys solution, operated by 21Vianet, to provide timely, cost-effective IT support services to its customers across China.
Phicomm, a new Unisys client, was established in 2011. Following rapid growth, Phicomm required a standardized approach to IT service management (ITSM) to replace the previous manual processes and enable IT service delivery to be more productive and efficient.
Unisys has provided ITSM advisory services to develop a technology road map to support Phicomm's business plans and will jointly implement and support the solution with 21Vianet. 21Vianet will host the cloud-based ITSM solution in its data center facilities in China and deliver it to Phicomm on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) basis for five years.
Unisys Edge is a market-leading enterprise-grade ITSM solution available via a SaaS model in China hosted and operated locally by 21Vianet. Because it is cloud-based and uses pre-built modules, Edge enables fast implementation of a business-ready ITSM solution. The on-demand subscription-based solution offers an alternative to buying an in-house system.
