Sociedad de San Vincente de Paul (St. Vincent de Paul Society)

The St. Vincent de Paul Society was founded in Paris in 1833. Today it is in over 150 countries around the world. Working directly and closely with people in need, it focuses on the dignity of the whole person. Services range from care for the sick, to helping the homeless and refugees, providing educational support for children and so much more. Through developmental strategies and training, it helps people overcome the social and economic gaps of poverty, illness and social injustice.

Colombia’s Sociedad de San Vincent de Paul has a presence both in Bogotá, founded in 1857, and Medellin, founded in 1882. Unisys is in the process of rightsizing its real estate footprint in those cities as more associates are working from home. This has meant an excess of office furniture. Unisys is working with the Society and is donating the furniture to them to help support them in their mission. Manny Raffo, Real Estate Director of the Americas, said: "As we continue to "right size" sites globally, we try to evaluate and consider opportunities that may benefit the communities we work in. Donations of surplus furniture to schools or not for profit institutions is one way we can help. Unisys is very proud to be able to help out."
