The threat of personal data breach among Brazilian consumers is high in telecommunications companies and government agencies, while airlines are considered to be less vulnerable. Data security concerns among other organizations like retailers, banks, utilities and healthcare companies are higher than that in airlines.
- Brazilian respondents are concerned about their personal data held by telecom companies (67 percent), most likely due to recent high profile cases of data breach in this sector.
- 60 percent of those surveyed raised concerns about data security at government agencies, probably due to increased occurrences of data breaches in the last few years.
- Brazilians also recorded the highest concern percentage with retail companies for all countries surveyed (55%).
Concerns regarding the security of 2016 Olympic Games is high among Brazilians, as 77 percent of those surveyed have at least one concern.
- Urban violence is by far the greatest worry (57 percent).
