Data Center Transformation and Outsourcing - Cloud Solutions
Cloud computing has suddenly jumped to the top of mind of most enterprises and this interest is driven by a desire to significantly improve business and IT agility, and lower IT costs. How can IT support the business in the face of constant change, but with less resources and more economically? This is a real challenge given this tough economic climate, along with the businesses need for anytime, anywhere IT. Business forces have caused IT to try to figure out how to provide flexible services faster, but, without large, up front investments. Unisys has a number of cloud solutions for providing the necessary flexibility and responsiveness needed to achieve significant business value.
Our Portfolio
CloudBuild Services
Building and deploying a cloud is a lot more than implementing a “cloud stack” or “cloud in a
box” solution. A cloud implementation touches on a wide range of issues including financial,
service management, storage, and much more. CloudBuild Services is a comprehensive series of
consulting, integration, and support services which enable clients to successfully
deploy a cloud while maintaining operational compatibility and transforming their
existing infrastructure for the delivery of an agile IT-as-a-Service model. CloudBuild
Services is a multi-vendor offering for the planning, design, and implementation of an
enterprise cloud and is underpinned by the Unisys 8-Track data center methodology.
Unisys Secure Cloud Solution
Unisys Secure Cloud Solution is a service which supports your conventional requirements today
with a speed to provisioning, elastic capacity, and bullet-proof security for data "in motion".
Unisys Secure Cloud enables you to leverage the power and flexibility of cloud computing to
provision software applications, infrastructure and platforms on an as-needed basis with
subscription-based pricing options. Unlike other cloud offerings, Unisys Secure Cloud is built
upon a patent-pending security technology foundation that breaks new ground in data protection.
This allows Unisys Secure Cloud customers to run much more of their business application
workloads than typical commodity cloud offerings. For example, until now development and test
and web services have been popular workloads for traditional cloud offerings, because security
is less of an issue. However, with the built-in security of the Unisys Secure Cloud Solution,
many additional workloads that include sensitive data can be securely accommodated, from
business applications like analytics, end-of-month processing, and reporting, to complex IT
processes such as disaster recovery. In summary, your company can replace up-front capital
costs with monthly subscriptions for many more of your workloads.
- Unisys Hosted Secure Private Cloud Solution
Cloud computing is transforming the way IT delivers services to the business. Unisys Hosted Secure Private Cloud Solution makes that transformation smoother, less risky and more valuable. We design, deploy and manage cloud models that combine the best attributes of private and public cloud models within an environment tailored to clients’ objectives, needs and budget. Dedicated, non-shared servers for application delivery, platform usage and disaster recovery are available “as-a-service” in highly virtualized and secure environments. Service management, provisioning and orchestration are all automated and seamless.
Unisys Secure Private Cloud
Unisys Secure Private Cloud delivers "near zero touch" internal cloud computing through our
unique set of extreme automation capabilities that make it easy to deploy, easy to operate,
easy to use, and virtually eliminates the manual effort required to provision, virtualize,
manage and integrate cloud-enabled servers, storage and network resources. Easy to deploy,
Unisys Secure Private Cloud works with both virtualized and non-virtualized servers and
applications, and delivers scalable and efficient cloud computing capabilities in VMware. Easy
to operate, for VMware users, Secure Private Cloud enables you to massively scale a
VMware-based internal cloud without the need to add IT staff. Easy to use, Secure Private Cloud
has a self-service portal, which allows users to request services which can be automatically
provisioned in minutes.
Unisys ClearPath Cloud: Development and Test Offerings
Unisys ClearPath Cloud: Development and Test is a part of the Unisys Cloud solution portfolio.
It provides you with secure extensions for your existing ClearPath application development
infrastructure. ClearPath Cloud: Development and Test is an enterprise class, Unisys hosted
public cloud using a shared resource model delivered as PaaS (Platform as a Service). ClearPath
Cloud: Development and Test provides significant gains and expanded flexibility in
infrastructure sourcing options.
ClearPath Cloud: Development and Test is focused on achieving the following objectives: high availability, security and consistent performance within a cost-effective environment that is aligned to your business priorities.
With today’s economic environment, you must use your IT resources in a manner that provides optimum return on investment (ROI). Application development is a complex undertaking, typically requiring significant capital investments prior to achieving new functionality. The key priority is to ensure that the new functionality is available as planned. Since the application development pipeline has many dependencies, a project can be blocked and affect overall progress. With the advent of the ClearPath Cloud: Development and Test, the projects experiencing delays can be quickly re-provisioned to insure that the schedules are met. Any resource constraints that may exist within the current infrastructure can be removed quickly, by ClearPath Cloud’s unique capabilities for rapidly provisioning multiple virtual servers.
When a significant new project is being considered, using ClearPath Cloud Development and Test provides a low-risk, incremental approach to scale up the project as it matures. When the project is proven, then it can return to existing infrastructure. In this way ClearPath Cloud helps you achieve superior financial results.
Virtual Office as a Services (VOaaS)
The Unisys Secure Virtual Office as a Service (VOaaS) delivers a more secure, more manageable,
and more cost effective alternative to deploying standalone PCs. VOaaS enables a customer to
virtualize and host desktops in the infrastructure provided by the Unisys Secure Cloud, and is
offered on a subscription basis. This enables customers to realize the immediate benefits of
desktop virtualization while avoiding the large upfront capital expenditures typically required
to implement a virtual desktop infrastructure.
Unisys Logistics Management System on Cloud
The Unisys Logistics Management System (LMS) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is a technically
advanced solution that enables airlines worldwide to manage air cargo securely, reliably and
flexibly. The reliability and availability needed to meet critical business needs is
demonstrated by a recent milestone on one of our cloud servers that has run nonstop for over
1500 days and executed over 3 billion transactions in that time.
Delivered as a multi-tenant application, payment is on transaction basis, giving you significant cost savings and increased flexibility over in-house systems. Running on Cloud, enhancements can be made available to users immediately, customization and training is simpler, and communications costs are lower. Related functionality from various partner applications increases value, while client-specific functions can be integrated using ‘hook points’. With over 1,700 parameters the solution can be configured to match your needs.
Unisys LMS SaaS offering is an integral part of the Unisys cloud computing strategy and has been operating successfully for the last seven years, helping air cargo organizations optimize revenue and increase customer loyalty with a flexible pay-for-use pricing model.
Secure Document Delivery
Despite several years of using online portals to service customers, institutions continue to
mail millions of paper documents, including statements, bills, invoices, renewal notices,
collection notices, and policies, to their customers, partners and suppliers. Paper delivery
costs continue to rise, as does the environmental impact of paper printing and mailing. Unisys
Secure Document Delivery Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering on Unisys Secure Cloud
revolutionizes the way institutions communicate with their customers by attaching secured
documents for electronic delivery directly into customers’ email inbox. Customers do not have
to pre-register or remember usernames or passwords. The solution delivers a feature-rich,
interactive document directly to the customer’s email inbox, enables “one-click” electronic
payment, and captures data/response/form updates from customers. Marketing messages and
promotions can be personalized to drive qualified traffic to the website, increasing cross-sell
and up-sell. This innovative delivery of documents to customers dramatically increases customer
adoption of electronic communications. It significantly enhances customer experience, allowing
institutions to achieve rapid ROI and dramatic cost savings from paper suppression. It extends
clients’ Internet strategy by bringing qualified traffic to the website. It reduces the carbon
footprint and supports Green initiatives.
