Terry Hartmann

Terry has over 25 years experience in the IT industry and is an internationally recognized authority on all aspects of homeland security and positive-identification technology, including briefing of foreign governments and the media. He regularly speaks at international conferences on identity matters and is a globally recognized leader in the biometrics industry.

Terry Hartmann is the Identity and Credentialing Global Practice Lead, and a vice president, for Unisys Corporation.

He has overall responsibility for developing and implementing Unisys homeland security strategy with particular emphasis on human identity management: passports, visas, ID cards, driver licenses, employee ID, and other identity centric solutions. His team directs and coordinates Unisys ID strategy, pre-sales, and solutions worldwide.

He regularly speaks at international conferences on identity matters and is a globally recognized leader in the biometrics industry.

Prior to joining Unisys, Terry was responsible for leading-edge research and development, strategic planning, and implementation of business process transformation in his role as IT Manager for the Australian Passport Office. He played a key role in establishing the Australian public sector as a world leader in biometrics technologies.

He is a technical expert to the International Standards Organization (ISO) on biometrics specializing in facial recognition, and he is a director of the Australian Biometrics Institute.

Terry holds a Bachelor of Science Honors level degree specializing in computer science and pure mathematics from the Australian National University, Canberra.
