Supplier Diversity Program
The Importance of Supplier Diversity to Unisys
Unisys recognizes the importance of a diverse supplier base and its impact on the business community and population at large. As such, we strive to meet the requirements of our corporate and government customers—not only because it is the right thing to do, but because it makes good business sense.
To this end, our goal is to reach out and identify qualified minority and woman-owned companies, veteran and service disabled veteran-owned businesses capable of providing products and services in our supply chain. Here are some examples of how we meet this goal and demonstrate our commitment to supplier diversity:
- Unisys serves as a National Corporate Member and supporter of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). Unisys strongly encourages minority-owned businesses to become certified with NMSDC before pursuing business opportunities.
- Unisys is a national supporter of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and encourages the third party certification of woman-owned businesses by WBENC.
- We are supporters of the National Council of HUBZone Businesses. HUBZones are federally-designated areas with high unemployment. HUBZone certified firms must employ 35% of their employees from a HUBZone area.
- Unisys is a supporter of the National Veterans Business Association (NaVOBA), who’s mission is to assist veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses.
The core of the supplier diversity program is expanding the use of diverse suppliers that are already in our supply base and are contributing to the success of Unisys. These suppliers and partners have a proven track record of providing products and quality service at competitive prices.
