Airline Core Systems Solution
Components
The AirCore suite comprises 11 modules that leverage customer value.
- AirCore Operational Customer Database: houses customer information such as customer value and preferences. It is integrated with other AirCore modules and enables airlines to make service and disservice recovery decisions based on individual customers.
- AirCore SEATS: provides shared common functions for seat map maintenance, seat assignment and allocation. SEATS enables airlines to establish business rules for using available knowledge about the customer (customer value, preferences, and so forth) in automated assignment of seats.
- AirCore SPACE: is a comprehensive air inventory control solution that allows for varying types of airline inventory management techniques. The emphasis is on automatic handling of requirements based on airline parameters.
- AirCore DEPART: provides a passenger check-in system. This encompasses customer handling, electronic ticket registration, interline services (through check and electronic ticket), flight handling (for check-in), boarding services, passenger and baggage security, and system administration.
- AirCore REACT: is used to reaccommodate passengers for both flight schedule changes and irregular operations.
- AirCore BOOKING: offers for sale, records, and manages customer air and non-air product and services orders. It is responsible for recording the relevant customer details (name, frequent flyer status, preferences, contact information, fare and ticketing information, and so forth). The customer profile (from the Operational Customer Database) is used to guide service delivery and shorten the order entry process. It includes the capability to establish interfaces with other service providers such as GDS.
- AirCore TICKETING: This functional area manages ticket activity, including ticket production, document number assignment and history. TICKETING tracks stock and status(unused, used, reissued, and so forth), stores ticket images, and facilitates airline sales reporting. TICKETING provides electronic ticketing and support of paper and ATB ticketing as well as traditional prepaid ticket advice (PTA) management. TICKETING manages payment and credit card activity. It also supports traditional forms of payments, such as cash, checks (personal, corporate and traveler's), money orders, and credit cards.
- AirCore LOADCONTROL: assists airline load control agents to plan payload distribution aboard an aircraft, and monitors the effects of added payload in accord with the manufacturer's weight and balance requirements. Passenger, Cargo and Combi- configurations are handled and includes an auto-load feature.
- AirCore FLIGHTS: manages and controls flight schedule data and flight information (FLIFO). Although flight schedule data can be entered and maintained manually, the standard process is automated receipt of messages or files from a schedule planning system, partners and the OAG. The flight data that is supported is based on the industry standard SSIM.
- AirCore ROUTINGS: generates routes (both direct flight segments and connections) between two cities or airports. Routings are required for business processes such as:
- Determining the best routing to satisfy a customer's travel request.
- Determining the best routing when reaccommodating passengers.
- Determining routings for schedule publication.
A variety of factors control both the selection and sequence of the routings provided (for example, direct flights, elapsed time, and ECAC rules). This includes factors used to construct connection routings from available flight segments [e.g., minimum connection time (MCT) and preferred connection cities.]
-
AirCore INFORMATION: provides a facility for storing reference information and a searchable database for keyword access to the information. Included is the ability to establish links to external automated information facilities such as visa requirements and weather. INFORMATION provides a user interface for entering content, including the maintenance and support of standard document format attachments.
