Unisys Confirms 125 Forwarder Companies Go
On-line to Cargo Portal Services in First Six Weeks

New Internet-based booking and shipment management service being used around the world

BLUE BELL, Pa., March 13, 2003 – In order to show the global availability of Cargo Portal Services (CPS), the launch partners -- Unisys Corporation, Air Canada Cargo, Northwest Airlines Cargo and United Airlines Cargo – met with freight forwarder and airline staff based in Tokyo the week of March 3rd.

Fifty staff from 23 leading forwarding companies and 20 staff from the twelve largest airlines serving Japan attended the two meetings hosted by the launch partners. The meeting attendees viewed live demonstrations of CPS working through the public Internet with excellent response times. They also saw real bookings being made and amended, and Cargo 2000 tracking milestones of shipments that were already in-transit. To show how simple CPS is to operate, the demonstrations, in Japanese, were given by Tokyo-based representatives of the three launch carriers.

At the meetings, Unisys announced that since the CPS launch on January 27th, 190 forwarder branch offices from 125 forwarder organizations in 12 countries have requested to use the secure functions of CPS and were now able to do so. Unisys also announced that executives from more than 30 airlines had attended demonstrations of CPS during January and February and that it was hopeful of bringing other carriers on-line soon.

Cargo Portal Services is available at www.cargoportalservices.com, is available globally and is free to forwarders.
