Unisys Signs $110.5 Million USD Contract with DIMA for Outsourced Desktop Services

BLUE BELL, Pa., January 23, 2007 – Unisys Corp. (NYSE: UIS) signed a four-year contract with the Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) to provide a range of outsourced desktop services, the company announced today. The contract is worth an estimated $110.5 million USD ($140 million AUD) over the initial four years, with the potential for future contract extensions. This contract follows DIMA’s recent award of a separate contract, under which Unisys provides biometrics solutions for DIMA’s border control initiative.

The desktop outsourcing contract covers selected end-user computing services, including service desk operations, business support services and applications support; as well as secure e-mail and Internet services. Collectively, these comprise a vital part of DIMA’s IT backbone.

Unisys will manage these IT services so that DIMA personnel can focus on managing the needs of people seeking to move to or visit Australia, border security and the department’s other operations.

Unisys anticipates streamlining DIMA’s IT services, especially by establishing innovative ways to resolve routine help desk queries more efficiently. The company also will provide services to maintain the stability of the IT infrastructure, improve the associated management reporting and update and streamline reporting processes. These measures are expected to reduce DIMA’s cost of IT operations and improve the overall computing experience for users.

Unisys ability to combine effective IT management services with security has been central to DIMA’s decision to outsource to Unisys. Providing secure solutions to government goes beyond the obvious measures around data protection and privacy. For DIMA, it means using an IT infrastructure that lets DIMA personnel perform their duties as quickly and as effectively as they need, and in a way that remains accountable.

“To make this happen, Unisys used its visibility methodology in planning and risk management, in partnership with DIMA, to comprehensively identify, document and agree on the responsibilities that we have to each other,” said Tony Henshaw, vice president Global Outsourcing and Infrastructure Services, Asia-Pacific, Unisys.

“The Australian federal government market is strategically important for Unisys in the context of a strong international commitment to the public sector and we continue to make significant investments here,” Henshaw added.

This contract is the second signed by Unisys with (DIMA) in the last seven months. Under the first contract, for biometric solutions and services for DIMA’s border control program, Unisys is responsible for supplying systems that will allow immigration officials to authenticate an individual’s identity through facial images and fingerprinting.
