Biography

Toni Townes is a partner with Unisys Federal Systems, based in Reston, Va. She recently resumed her role as lead partner on the largest Unisys account in the Federal civilian market, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), where she leads strategic efforts for overall delivery, sales and personnel management.

In 2004, Toni was selected by Unisys Federal senior management to establish a Federal Competency Center to leverage Unisys functional and consulting competencies across the Federal business portfolio.

From 2002 to 2004, Toni served as the client partner for GSA where she led strategic engagements with GSA administrators, CFOs, CIOs and Program leads across GSA’s Federal Technology, Federal Supply and Public Buildings Services and regional offices.  She was directly responsible for managing P&L, client relationships, business development, service delivery, market positioning and capacity building in the diverse 400+ member GSA team.  Toni has led the team in growing account revenue, increasing headcount, profitability and market visibility.

Formerly a senior manager with Arthur Andersen’s Office of Government Services (OGS), Toni joined Unisys in June 2002, when about 150 OGS employees became part of the Unisys team.  In conjunction with this effort, she led the transition into the Unisys organization.  While at Andersen, Toni led account teams in developing asset management solutions for clients in Federal defense and civilian markets as well as states and localities.   She also served as principal strategist for Andersen’s Finance and Operations Unit, where she helped design a new operating model to increase sales and deepen consultant skills.

Prior to her role at OGS, Toni was a consultant for Enterprise Bancorp, Inc. where she developed and executed acquisition strategies.  Before that position, she worked in program evaluation at the U.S. General Accounting Office and served as a senior evaluator managing programs in the National Security and International Affairs Division.  She also established and became a managing partner of the Armed Forces Sales & Distribution Group, LLP (AFSDG) where she was responsible for securing purchase and distribution agreements for AFSDG clients looking to sell products to U.S. military installations.
