Tip UnderwoodPartnerFederal Systems BiographyTip Underwood is a partner in Unisys Federal Systems, where he leads a team supporting critical homeland security programs at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The project portfolio includes .Net, J2EE and C++ development, resources management, CMMI accreditation, performance management, quality assurance, and project management process development and implementation.
Prior to his current assignment, Tip was senior director, Solutions Management & Support for a major TSA program, where he was responsible for delivery of all TSA mission applications and related platforms supporting critical airport security across 430 priority airports. He was also responsible for application, architecture and environment roadmaps illustrating how to enhance environment flexibility, drive disaster recovery and ensure continuity of business operations while incorporating upcoming regulatory and commercial technology advancements.
Earlier, Tip was the senior director, Solutions Delivery, for the Unisys Health Information Management business. In this position, he was responsible for centralized operations and outsourcing management, data center and infrastructure management, solutions delivery and quality assurance.
Before joining Unisys, Tip was a senior manager with Exeter Group, where he served as the director for the person team that developed and implemented a web-based financial reporting, budgeting and consolidation application for the Health and Human Services Division, as well as, oversaw the development of their data warehouse solution supporting multiple ERP platform data models.
