Steve VinsikVice president, Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)Federal Systems BiographySteve Vinsik is vice president, Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), with responsibility for strategic leadership, practice development, and service delivery. Steve has more than 15 years’ experience leading field operations teams that conduct research and development, application development, integration and information security programs – spanning biometric and surveillance technology integration, security architecture, physical and logical security convergence and information systems domains. The CIP practice supports numerous clients in the Government, Transportation, and Financial Services sectors globally.
Prior to his current assignment, Steve served as Chief Architect for Integrated Security Programs where he directed the engineering of surveillance systems and biometrics on the SBInet program and served as Chief Engineer on airport security projects where he deployed biometric, video surveillance, credentialing, carge security, and access control systems at more than 20 airports through a series of TSA funded technology test and evaluation programs. Before joining Unisys, Steve was Director, Technical Operations, for BioNextrix Corporation, where he was responsible for all professional services, external customer support, pre- and post-sales engineers, program management, proposal management, training, and professional development. While at BioNextrix, he led the engineering effort to complete a custom solution for a 10,000 user biometric system. He also served as the chief architect for enterprise-wide biometric security applications and developed security implementation plans for public and private sector organizations.
Prior to his tenure with BioNextrix, Steve worked for Davis Selected Advisors, where he managed network security for the organization and was responsible for all security and network infrastructure development and design for a mutual fund company. Steve is a member of several prestigious organizations in the field of biometrics. He serves as the Unisys representative for INCITS M1 Committee on Biometrics, Secretary for BioAPI and a U.S. delegate to the ISO SC37 group on Biometrics. Areas of Expertise
