John J. Souder

Biography

John Souder serves as vice president and global solutions lead for Identification and Credentialing Solutions, as part of Unisys Enterprise Security Initiatives.  In his position, he is responsible for providing sales, solution and delivery support in the areas of national identification, registered traveler, ePassport, worker identification, border control, and physical and logical access management.

 

Prior to rejoining Unisys in 2006, John was vice president of the federal sector for NEC Solutions America, where he had responsibility for launching and building NEC’s information technology services business in the U.S. federal government market sector.

 

Before joining NEC, John spent eight years with Unisys, where he held positions of increasing responsibility.  His last assignment was as the global practice executive for Unisys Registry and Personal Identifications Solutions program, which included Driver & Vehicle Services, Election Services and Identification & Registry Services.  In this capacity, he advised governments worldwide on the evaluation, development and successful deployment of large-scale civil identification solutions.

 

John previously served as program manager of the Pacific Asia Americas Group based in Boca Raton, Fla.  There he oversaw strategy, business development and marketing of large-scale civil identification-based solutions in the Caribbean, Latin American, African and Asian regions.  During his tenure, sales grew from $17 million in 1997 to over $173 million in 1999.

 

John began his Unisys career as a services manager in Corporate Marketing and later as a marketing manager.  He was originally involved with the design and development of an automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS) solution.

 

Over the years, John has been involved with various high profile and innovative projects. Beginning with the world's first successful implementation of an automated fingerprint identification system designed and built exclusively for civil identification to the world’s largest public sector project combining biometrics, smart card and interactive multimedia technologies.
