Gene ZapfelPartner, Civilian AgenciesFederal Systems BiographyGene Zapfel is a partner with Unisys Federal Systems, based in Reston, Va., where he is responsible for the U.S. Department of Agriculture account and leads the federal enterprise content management capability. Gene brings to Unisys more than 20 years of experience in delivering management and technology consulting services to government, commercial and institutional clients.
Prior to joining Unisys, Gene was a principal at Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc., where he was responsible for the Agriculture account and led numerous teams in delivering e-business and e-government solutions to Agriculture and other federal civilian and defense clients. Gene developed and delivered solutions in grants management, asset management, acquisition management and business process management (enterprise content management). He was a leader in the development of multiple communities of interest within the firm.
Previously, Gene was a senior consultant at Ferraro Cecil Inc., where he was the lead analyst in support of the Hoffman LaRoche Pharmaceutical account. Gene also served as a senior consultant at Management Analysis Inc., delivering management and technology consulting to federal civilian and defense clients.
Gene serves as the vice chair of the Industry Advisory Council’s E-government Shared Interest Group and is on the board of directors for the American Society for Public Administration, National Capital Area Chapter. He is certified as a project management professional (PMP) and is a certified management consultant (CMC). Areas of Expertise
