Eric Merten

Biography

Eric Merten is a senior program manager with the Global Public Sector organization, based in Reston, Va.  Eric is responsible for Unisys security solutions program management, with lead responsibility for communications interoperability deployments.  He has more than 13 years of domestic and international experience in consulting, internet, wireless and software organizations.

Before joining Unisys, Eric was a director of new product development for AT&T Broadband, (acquired by Comcast Corporation) where he was responsible for the development of strategic vision and implementation plans for multiple high-speed data products, including desktop service management and support software, home networking, streaming audio and video, video conferencing, virtual private networking and IP service provisioning tools.  In that role, he successfully managed the deployment of one of the nation’s first cable broadband Internet open-access products.

Eric has extensive business consulting experience, developing business strategies, plans and sales tools for major telecommunications software and services companies.  He has also served as an advisor on product and service mix, marketing materials, partner opportunities, and market development techniques.  Finally, he has advised start-up cellular and internet access firms on strategy and business process engineering efforts.
