When you use this tool, development is straightforward and begins with an examination of the activities, components, and rules of your organization. This information is entered into Developer and forms the foundation of the new application.

Enterprise Application Version Control

Version Control is an optional product that provides integrated support for versioning objects from within Developer. No matter what size development team you have, it’s vital that you keep track of different versions of all the elements that make up your application. Version Control makes it easy to do just that. Operations include the following features; check in, check out, undo check out, labeling and delete and purge. A separate repository, called the Version Control Bank, provides a second level store for this information.

Enterprise Application Builder

This tool makes system generation fast and simple and can be invoked at any time during the development process. You don't need in-depth knowledge of databases or communications because Application Builder masks these underlying technologies.

During the generation process, applications are automatically tailored and optimized for your targeted deployment architecture and can be easily moved among systems with compatible architectures. The application generation flow is a simple two-step process. Using the systems specification in the Developer repository, Builder creates all source files, transfers files between the workstation and host, and controls the compile and deployment phases of the application system.

Enterprise Application Runtime

The Enterprise Application Environment is designed for business-critical, transaction-intensive solutions -- and reliability is a major operational advantage. With Application Runtime, information systems take full advantage of the performance, underlying integrity, and resilient capabilities of supporting computing platforms.

In addition, a wide range of connectivity and communications options make the Enterprise Application Environment ideal for your dynamic computing environment. And as your business requirements change, your applications can be changed -- even re-deployed on new hardware architectures -- as needed with minimal effort.

Enterprise Application Component Enabler

This tool lets you access applications created with the Enterprise Application Environment through the Microsoft standard component architecture or as a JavaBean. With Component Enabler, any tool that understands Microsoft COM objects or JavaBeans can call one, some, or all of your Enterprise Application Environment transactions. Such tools include Visual Basic, Excel, VBScript, JavaScript, or programs written in Java.

Now you can update spreadsheets using data in your application database. You can create a client application using Visual Basic that accesses multiple transactions in multiple applications on different host environments. You can write an Active Server Page-based Web application that interfaces to your back-end applications and make it available to your customers using a wide variety of browsers. And you can do all this without having to change your host applications!

Enterprise Application Presentation Client

Presentation Client provides a new method for deploying your graphical user interfaces to both a stand-alone workstation and an Internet browser client environment. It connects to an Enterprise Application Runtime host using Remote Access Server. The new Presentation Client combines the functionality of the workstation-based Graphical Interface Workbench and the browser-based Web Enabler products. The underlying technology is based on Component Enabler.

Enterprise Application ASP Generator

Provides automatic generation of Active Server Page forms from the screens defined inDeveloper. ASP forms can dynamically create HTML forms tailored to the client's browser. This allows you to satisfy different usage requirements from a variety of users accessing the same system.

Enterprise Application ASP Generator Customization Kit

Provides all the functionality of the ASP Generator, as well as the option to modify the source code to generate forms that meet specific display or functionality requirements.

Enterprise Application Client Generator for Microsoft Visual Basic

Generates Visual Basic forms from screens defined in Enterprise Application Developer, allowing you to customize and load them into the Visual Basic 6.0 Development Environment. Use Component Enabler and resulting Visual Basic executables to communicate with Enterprise Application Environment systems.

Enterprise Application Business Integrator

Gives you the flexibility to integrate Enterprise Application Environment applications with non-Enterprise Application Environment applications, and the capabilities to call out to components on a Windows 2000 platform. Take advantage of Windows 2000 functionality such as sending emails, calling Web Services, verifying credit card details, and invoking COM objects.

Graphical Interface Workbench

Graphical Interface Workbench is a Windows-based software product that displays the graphical forms, created with Enterprise Application Developer, on users’ desktops. Features of Graphical Interface Workbench (formerly PowerClient) have been incorporated into the Enterprise Application Developer Painter so that development personnel can create and maintain graphical screens with one tool. Enterprise Application Presentation Client now provides similar capability, so version 3R4 is the last release of this product.

Enterprise Application Web Enabler

This tool lets you access the Enterprise Application Environment from popular Web browsers while requiring no changes to the original applications. In conjunction with the Secure Sockets Layer, Web Enabler protects the security of your transactions.
