File Security

Data is protected at the directory level by the access controls at the heart of MCP file security. You can specify who has what types of access to your files within an access structure established by your security administrator.

Encryption

When privacy is required for sensitive data, encryption is an excellent option.

Tape Encryption

To help you address both U.S. and international regulations and data privacy concerns, Unisys offers an optional Tape Encryption software product. You can use it with the Library Maintenance facility (part of the MCP operating system), the Enterprise Database Server (DMSII) product and the MCP TapeStack to encrypt tapes using software-based encryption. The encryption algorithms supported include the Advanced Encryption Software (AES) and Triple DES.

Java Platform Security

When Java programs are part of your mix, they benefit not only from the Java platform's security, but also from the security defined by your underlying ClearPath platform.

User Identification and Authentication

User authentication controls complement the data privacy and integrity mechanisms governing entry to your ClearPath server, as do firewalls and other security measures implemented in your overall enterprise network.
