Message Queuing ClearPath MCP Interface to Microsoft Message Queuing

ClearPath MCP Interface to Microsoft Message Queuing (WinMQ) is message-oriented middleware that allows Unisys Transaction Server programs and other application programs on ClearPath MCP servers to exchange messages with message-queuing applications running on any platform where Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) is available.

The WinMQ product is ideal for integrating applications with one or more of these characteristics:

  • Demand for very high levels of message delivery assurances
  • Ability to run independently without an active network connection
  • Ability to "trigger" application component initiation to process messages

WinMQ is a software interface that allows ClearPath MCP COBOL85, COBOL74, ALGOL and NEWP applications to participate in message exchange with one or more Windows applications/servers using Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ).

MSMQ is Windows-based, message-oriented middleware that supports the MS COM and COM+ architectures.  It allows message exchange between applications running on Windows platforms. It is fully integrated with the Microsoft COM+ Transaction Manager, IIS and HIS. It can also be used effectively in clustered Windows environments.

MSMQ provides a messaging infrastructure and development tools for distributed messaging applications that enable applications on different systems to communicate with each other, even if systems and networks occasionally fail. Message Queuing applications send messages across heterogeneous networks and between computers that may be temporarily unable to connect. Message Queuing provides guaranteed message delivery, efficient routing, security, support for sending messages within transactions and priority-based messaging.
