Benchmark Reports TPC-C Benchmark: 16-processor, Dual-Core Intel® Xeon MP-based system

On May 8, 2006, the Unisys ES7000/one Enterprise Server set a new standard for performance and price/performance for a 16-processor Intel-based system.

The ES7000/one 16-processor server recorded 749,839 tpmC, at $3.33/tpmC applying the power of the Intel® Xeon® processor MP model 7041 and Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 Enterprise x64 Edition database running on the Windows Server 2003 Datacenter x64 Edition operating system.

This 16-processor benchmark result demonstrates a 52 percent performance advantage over the next Intel 16x system recorded with the Transaction Processing Performance Council – beating that result by more than 257,000 tpmC. In addition, the ES7000/one server delivers this unprecedented performance at nearly half the cost of the next Intel 16x system listed.

This 16x benchmark result extends Unisys advantage in a segment of the scale-up server market that commands tangible business benefits and that comprises thousands of large enterprises.

You can review the results by going to the TPC-C Advanced sort page on the TPC website.

You will need to select

  • All vendors
  • Number of Server CPUs - descending
  • tpmC - descending
  • Check the server CPU box
  • Scroll down to the 16 processor systems

About TPC-C

The TPC-C benchmark simulates a complete computing environment where users execute transactions against a database. It is centered around the principal activities (transactions) of an order-entry environment.  You can learn more about the TPC-C methodology on the TPC.org website.
