Nick Evans is a vice president and general manager within the Office of the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Unisys. Nick presently leads the Applied Innovation program for the company, an internal and client-facing worldwide initiative. Additionally, he oversees global strategy and thought leadership focusing on Disruptive Technologies and Trends including Social, Mobile, Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud and Cybersecurity. He has represented Unisys at the Research and Technology Executive Council (part of the Corporate Executive Board), the Service Research and Innovation Initiative (SRII) and the Berkeley Innovation Forum founded by Professor Henry Chesbrough. Nick is also one of
Consulting Magazine’s “Top 25 Consultants”, and
ComputerWorld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders.
Nick has over 25 years of consulting experience in all aspects of business innovation and emerging technology practice leadership and solution delivery in a wide variety of industries. He is the author of several books on emerging technology and IT strategy including titles from Financial Times Prentice Hall ("Business Innovation & Disruptive Technology: Harnessing the Power of Breakthrough Technology…for Competitive Advantage" and "Business Agility: Strategies for Gaining Competitive Advantage through Mobile Business Solutions"), Microsoft Press and Powersoft Press.
He is an industry luminary who has shared his expertise in leading publications such as
Fortune, Time Magazine, Financial Times, CIO Magazine, ComputerWorld, Optimize, Internet Week,
RFID Journal and Washington Technology, as well as broadcast media such as CNBC Squawk Box, History Channel, Discovery Channel and Business Talk Radio.
Prior to his strategy and innovation role, Nick ran the Enterprise Security organization at Unisys – a worldwide consulting and integration practice covering security of people, goods and assets and information systems.
Before joining Unisys, Nick was the Global Lead, Emerging Technology at BearingPoint, Inc. (formerly KPMG Consulting). In this role, he focused on the delivery of emerging technology strategies and solutions, including Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), wireless/mobility, web services, business process management, real-time infrastructure and security, having strategic enterprise value to BearingPoint clients.
Nick holds a bachelor’s degree (Hons) in Geophysical Sciences and a master’s degree in in Oceanography from Southampton University in England. He serves as a frequent advisor to the venture capital community and has served on numerous boards including the Dallas Museum of Art (Technical Advisory Board), TechAmerica, the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) and the Service Research and Innovation Initiative (SRII).
