The ClearPath Libra 4300 system is the newest mid-range system. Based on a multi-core, 64-bit Intel® Xeon® Processor architecture, the Libra 4300 platform ushers in a major architectural transition by deploying distributed processing units united by a high-speed interconnect.
These units are divided into two unique cells: The Processor Memory Module (PMM), which is focused on ClearPath MCP instruction processors; and the I/O and Specialty Engine Module (ISM), which leverages our secure partitioning (s-Par®) technology to house both the host bus adapters and ClearPath Specialty Partitions. With s-Par, the Libra 4300 system is able to run multiple, concurrent MCP operating environments and application workloads within a single platform, such as dedicated ClearPath ePortal for MCP and ClearPath MCP JProcessor specialty engines.
The Libra 4300 extends the flexibility and openness of ClearPath MCP, providing support for a rich solution environment. As with every MCP system, the Libra 4300 Series offers code and data compatibility. You can migrate existing applications running on supported releases of MCP to the Libra 4300 systems without recompiling the applications. As such, you’ll have the ability to execute a seamless, transparent, and low-risk migration from one platform to the next.
As an option, the Libra 4300 also offers a High Availability system. The High Availability solution provides redundant “warm” standby MCP cells and the mechanisms to accelerate its activation (automatic failover) in the event of either: a planned downtime due to system maintenance, or an unplanned downtime due to an MCP cell failure.
