This paper describes the modernization of the user interface for Unisys USAS Check-in application for one of our aviation client using ClearPath ePortal for OS 2200. Unisys has been a major solutions and services provider to the aviation industry for nearly 50 years with vibrant business in passenger airlines, air freight, and airports and have major clients in each sector. For one of our clients, we undertook the task of modernizing the Unisys USAS Check-in application. This application runs on ClearPath Dorado servers. It includes complex functions such as, dealing with large passenger lists, aircraft seating, managing baggage and interfacing with downline airports and other carriers; processes that deal with a multitude of options and services at check-in also make the workflow complex and agent training considerable, to say the least. An international carrier uses the Check-in system 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. And, as most of us can probably verify, it is mission critical.
