The Dorado 8300 Series fulfills Unisys commitment in the evolution of ClearPath Intel® based Dorado systems to provide the absolute highest overall system performance with the latest I/O processing capability. Multiple Intel based components combine to create an OS 2200 processing environment that surpasses the performance of any previous CMOS based Dorado platform through a high availability, redundant design.
These Dorado 8300 systems provide this high performance OS 2200 processing capacity within a flexible, high-speed fabric with other Intel based processing elements to support enterprise Windows and Linux workloads. Multiple partitions can be quickly deployed within the fabric to allow a mix of industry standard, customer specific, or Unisys designed solutions.
Dorado 8300 systems are configured to provide the highest levels of security, availability, and reliability. Each major component contains extensive resiliency features - including redundant power supplies, cooling, I/O connections, and mirrored memory. The highest levels of resiliency have been further maintained through the duplication of all major elements including Dorado processors, I/O subsystem modules, management servers, and fabric infrastructure components.
The Dorado 8380 provides for software licensing based on a fixed performance level with additional flexibility for short term or business continuance performance gains offered through Capacity-on-Demand options. Dorado 8390 systems are licensed following Pay-for-Use business models utilizing Unisys advanced metering technology. Metering technology allows customers to instantly take advantage of extra processing capacity while only being charged for the resources used.
Each Dorado 8300 system comes with a flexible Fabric based infrastructure to further extend the processing capabilities of the OS 2200 environment. Utilizing this fabric based architecture, OS 2200 applications gain bi-directional access to Windows or Linux resources; while preserving the integrity and security of the ClearPath host environment. The fabric based infrastructure improves the ease of creating, testing, deploying, and maintaining new ClearPath applications and services through the use of modern tools and industry available solutions.
