The Unisys ClearPath Dorado 4380 and 4390 systems are the latest generation of Unisys Intel platforms for OS 2200, and are positioned to support mid-range processing environments. The Dorado 4380 / 4390 Series systems deliver mainframe class capabilities including high levels of security, availability, and reliability; while offering extended processing capability to support additional workload environments.
Dorado 4380 and 4390 systems bring performance improvements in both the processing complex as well as a new I/O subsystem. The single image processing capacity for Dorado 4380 and 4390 expand the range over predecessor platforms with a single thread performance improvement of 50% compared to Dorado 4200 systems**.
The Dorado 4380 systems continues the traditional business model which provides for software licensing based on a fixed performance level with additional flexibility offered through Capacity on Demand options. Dorado 4390 systems are licensed following Pay-for-Use business models utilizing Unisys advanced metering technology. Metering technology allows customers to instantly take advantage of extra processing capacity while only being charged for the resources used.
The Dorado 4300 systems feature an enhanced IO subsystem with integrated specialty partitions, more flexible HA configuration options; and a high-speed fabric-based infrastructure which extends the OS 2200 processing environment to include enterprise Windows and Linux workloads. A second OS 2200 partition may also be configured with the Dorado 4380 and 4390 systems to further expand the system’s overall processing capacity.
