There is consensus among air freight stakeholders that e-AWB adoption rates are currently far below expectations. One impediment we often hear is that “Change is hard”. Change becomes less hard and is adopted by more when there is a clear demonstrable value. It is time to step back and see what can be done differently to transform air freight to a digital business faster. This article provides Unisys’ view, from working with more than a dozen carriers, on the areas of successes, the hurdles in adoption of e-AWB, and successful approaches to do so.
