The volume of structured and unstructured content is challenging for organizations. New content arrives at an organization in the form of service requests and reports, new business applications, claims, invoices, or evidence, all driving transactions that must be acted upon quickly. To be valuable, it has to be processed in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. In addition to driving value, content and data related to constituents, customers and partners must be tightly controlled to comply with regulatory and compliance requirements.
Managing the volumes of content is vital to running your organization keeping operations moving while limiting your exposure.
Content has both immediate and lasting value. It can initiate a simple transaction, be used to propagate the steps to support the transaction, and becomes the historical record for customer service, audits, or actions planned in the future. Content is often processed by several departments within and across the organization. A centralized archive can achieve economies of scale, but must do it in a way that information is accessible when needed. At the point when content is no longer required or retained by law, that content is an expensive liability and should be discarded with a compliant audit trail.
The volume of this content can be overwhelming. Organizations receive tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of new content items per day, all of which need to be processed, managed, and retained for a period of time than can sometimes be measured in decades.
Unisys InfoImage helps you can take control and manage content to help your organization maximize value, lower costs and remain compliant. Integrated Content Management, Workflow and Records Management
InfoImage is a tightly integrated product for seamless content management, workflows, and auditability. The Content Management component defines the structure of the content, including the security access rules, and indexing format. From this content structure, the Workflow component defines the sequencing of the content through business processes. Workflow rules are created with the graphical Workflow Designer tool, with rules defined directly from the content metadata definitions.
Workflow rules can determine which content is sent to the Record Management component, which can direct content into a file plan, but allow that content to continue on its workflow-driven content path until such time as it is locked down as an auditable Record. Content items that are managed as Records are still searchable within the ECM system.
InfoImage Open Archive
The open archive architecture of InfoImage Storage Manager allows your file system to function as a disk archive or to interface with content addressable storage. InfoImage offers a completely flat storage architecture where content is identified by a unique ID, and is managed throughout its life cycle through this ID. In addition, the document definitions and indexing values can be defined to support the requirements of the applications.
