SYDNEY and BLUE BELL, Pa., October 18, 2017 –
Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced the
Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) has signed a three-year contract for managed end-user computing and infrastructure support services for DIBP staff globally. The engagement has a potential value of up to AU$77.7 million (approximately US$60.4 million).
Under the contract extension, Unisys will continue to provide managed service desk and end-user computing services to DIBP through June 2021. The contract includes 24x7, first level service desk support for all immigration systems and infrastructure support for the Department's mid-range equipment.
"International airlines, freight companies and travel agents all need to interact with DIPB's immigration systems, and the combination of Unisys' domain knowledge, technology and experience delivers the seamless electronic process they expect. Effective communication between these systems is critical to allow the Australian Government to check and manage who and what is coming into Australia in a timely manner, while preventing unnecessary delays to legitimate people or cargo entering the country," said Lysandra Schmutter, vice president, Public Sector, Unisys Asia Pacific.
Mark Forman, global head of Public Sector business at Unisys, said, "Australia is a global leader in the use of technology to secure a country's borders. Border security technology is evolving rapidly and that technology must be maintained at a high level of reliability to ensure availability around the clock – to protect the border while facilitating international trade. We continue to build the global expertise needed and are proud to have been chosen to continue our support of DIBP."

All forward-looking statements rely on assumptions and are subject to various risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially from expectations. In particular, statements in this release regarding the estimated value of the contract are based on historical charges and the assumption that the number of Department users and in-scope equipment will be consistent with current levels as will the Department's future requirements for maintenance and support, and the assumption that the contract will continue for its full term. Because the total number of Department users and in-scope equipment can change, the Department may change its future requirements for maintenance and support and project-related services, the contract is non-exclusive and can be terminated or suspended in whole or in part, and pricing under the contract is subject to adjustment under certain circumstances, the estimated value of the engagement is not guaranteed. Additional discussion of factors that could affect Unisys future results is contained in periodic filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
