A recent Unisys survey of 200 U.S. IT and business executives shows that CIOs are the C-suite executives most intensively advocating and driving migration of their organizations’ IT resources to the cloud. The study indicates that reducing costs and gaining faster access to computing capacity are the CIOs’ primary motivations, while security remains the chief challenge. Citing the value of the Unisys study, CloudTech states, “The research gives more credence to the maturing role of cloud in enterprises, as well as the changing role of the CIO as technology matures.” Both SiliconANGLE and eWeek also examine the research in-depth.
