New systems use latest Intel® Xeon® processor family to expand clients’ options for virtualization, cloud computing and data-intensive workloads
BLUE BELL, Pa., April 4, 2012 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that it has completely refreshed and expanded its ES3000 Enterprise Server family, introducing five new models based on the recently announced Intel® Xeon® Processor E5 family.
Drawing on performance improvements of up to 80 percent over previous-generation Intel processors1, along with other new features, these powerful new rack/tower systems give Unisys clients additional capabilities to address a range of enterprise applications.
The new ES3000 models enable clients to realize cost efficiencies and consolidation in data-center and remote-office space through improved energy efficiency and smaller footprints. In addition, IT organizations can increase system utilization through enhanced support for virtualization and automated management – two key requirements for effectiveness in cloud-computing solutions.

The five new models in the revamped ES3000 line are all based on the Intel® Xeon® Processor E5 product family. Each model is ideal for specific key applications:
- 3530R G3 (rack): Network infrastructure, web server and virtualization applications in space-constrained data centers;
- 3530T G3 (tower): Departmental applications – especially at remote sites – such as database processing, ERP, CRM and dense virtualization requiring more workloads on fewer systems;
- 3560R G3: Virtualization, mail and messaging, and database applications in mid-size to large enterprises;
- 3560R G3 HCS: Data-intensive operations, such as storage hosting, collaboration and computational analytics; and
- 3580R G3: Dense virtualization environments, mission-critical database applications and data warehousing.
IT organizations can choose the combination of industry-standard operating environment and hypervisor that best meets their specific application requirements. The new ES3000 systems support the Microsoft Windows and SUSE and Red Hat Linux operating environments, as well as the VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V and Xen hypervisors.
All of the new ES3000 Enterprise Server models can host Unisys Secure Private Cloud Solution, which streamlines provisioning and management of critical IT resources, helping clients reduce provisioning time from weeks to minutes.
The new ES3000 systems will be available April 30. Basic configurations range in price from $1,800 to $25,000.
