Unisys Federal Systems President Venkatapathi “PV” Puvvada Recognized with Prestigious Federal Computer Week Eagle Award

After winning Federal Computer Week’s Federal 100 Award for the fourth time, Puvvada selected for special honor as “best of the best”

BLUE BELL, Pa., March 30, 2015 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that Venkatapathi "PV" Puvvada, president of Unisys Federal Systems, has been honored as the 2015 industry recipient of the prestigious Eagle Award, an annual award recognizing "the best of the best" of those who have made significant contributions to federal government IT.

The two winners of the Eagle award – one from government and one from industry – are selected each year from among the 100 winners of the annual Federal Computer Week Federal 100 Awards recognizing individuals who made a significant impact on federal IT in the past year. The 2015 Eagle winners were announced at the March 26 Federal 100 Awards Gala in Washington, D.C.

Puvvada, who previously received Federal 100 Awards in 2003, 2005 and 2008, was selected again this year for his leadership in bringing groundbreaking IT solutions to the General Services Administration, the Department of Justice, the IRS, the Department of the Interior and other agencies.

He also was cited for his leadership at several technology-related industry groups such as the Professional Services Council, a group that represents the federal professional and technical services industry and for which Puvvada currently serves on the board of directors. In addition, Puvvada has been active as a leader of the Industry Advisory Council, a public-private partnership organization dedicated to advancing government and industry partnership through the improved application of information technology.

Dave Wennergren, senior vice president for technology at the Professional Services Council, presented the Eagle Award, citing Puvvada's commitment to innovation.

"He's been at the forefront of the big issues – cloud computing, big data, unified communications, mobile applications and cybersecurity," Wennergren said. "But he's perhaps best known for his willingness to serve. He always steps up, whether it's as chair of the Industry Advisory Council, or on the Board of the Professional Services Council."

Puvvada accepted the award on behalf of all of his associates at Unisys and urged members of the federal IT community to collaborate to address common challenges. "I urge all of you to take more risks and leverage the best technology innovations can offer," Puvvada said. "The payoff is much greater than the risk."

The Federal 100 Awards are presented annually by Federal Computer Week to government, industry and academic leaders who have played pivotal roles that affect how the federal government acquires, develops and manages IT. These individuals have gone above and beyond their daily responsibilities and have made a difference in the way technology has transformed government.
