Relationship with Unisys

The Unisys partnership with NetIQ plays a key role in the Unisys initiative to provide data center-class availability and ease of administration for solutions based on Windows and Linux environments. This partnership includes NetIQ AppManager components to be shipped on all ES7000s, and allows Unisys to upsell the entire NetIQ product line through its sales organization. Additionally, Unisys offers the NetIQ products as part of its Managed Services and Outsourcing offerings.

 

Solutions

NetIQ delivers customer-proven, cross-platform solutions that enhance business performance resulting in higher returns on infrastructure investments. NetIQ products focus in these key areas: 

  • Performance and Availability Management of full Windows, Linux, Unix and VoiP solutions
  • Security Management
  • Compliance and Operational Change Control  


Part of NetIQ’s operations management suite, AppManager software proactively identifies, alerts and automatically resolves performance and availability problems even before end-user services are affected. AppManager “plug-in” knowledge modules can be seamlessly integrated with Unisys Server Sentinel for service level management of popular applications such as SQL Server, Exchange, Oracle, Web Services and J2EE.  Additional modules can enable Server Sentinel to manage non-Unisys servers as well.  This allows management of Unisys Enterprise Servers to extend to all components that impact e-business in mission critical environments. NetIQ also provides Extended Management Packs (XMPs) for Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM).  NetIQ XMPs extend platform support for MOM  beyond Windows, enhance MOM  to manage and monitor non-Microsoft applications and provide extended data analytics and reporting support for Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 server applications.
 
In addition, Unisys offers a series of NetIQ OEM Software Packages that integrate with Server Sentinel and/or enhance the performance, availability, security and compliance of full solutions,. These let Unisys teams market “Sevice Level Management” solutions as extensions of existing Unisys Solutions like Business Intelligence, Infrastructure Management, Business Continuance and SPF.
