Unisys and EMC Extend Support Services
Agreement
Services for EMC CLARiiON storage systems help enhance availability and cost of ownership for EMC customers
Blue Bell, Pa., July 26, 2005 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE:UIS) today announced that it has received an extension of its services agreement with EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC). Under the extension, Unisys will provide support services for customers of award-winning and industry-leading EMC® CLARiiON® network storage systems in key regions of Europe and Africa and in Asia Pacific, including Japan and Korea (APJK). The Unisys services, complementing those already offered in North America, will help EMC CLARiiON customers enjoy continuous access to critical business information while realizing optimal cost of ownership for their mid-tier storage systems. “As a key Customer Service Partner in the EMC Authorized Services Network program, Unisys helps us ensure that our EMC CLARiiON customers receive the highest level of service and satisfaction,” said Leo Colborne, senior vice president, EMC Customer Service. “By extending our relationship, we can jointly enable a broader cadre of users to benefit from the skills of Unisys expert support services professionals and the reach of Unisys global services delivery infrastructure.” Under the terms of the approximate four-year extension, Unisys will provide support services such as installation, equipment maintenance and systems software support for the EMC CLARiiON line of midrange network storage solutions and systems. “As the Web becomes the primary channel for automated services and as regulatory compliance requirements grow steadily, enterprises and their customers continually require immediate access to ever larger amounts of business-critical information,” said Pierre Naudé, vice president and managing partner, Alliances and Channels, Unisys Global Outsourcing and Infrastructure Services. “By providing services which support that critical access, Unisys helps EMC customers in major regions around the globe transform their operations into 24-hour enterprises that expand service to their customers and further their strategic business objectives.” For over a decade, EMC and Unisys have worked together to deliver the services and enabling technology customers need to implement successful information lifecycle management (ILM) strategies while reducing information storage infrastructure cost of ownership.
