Unisys Wins Multi-Million Dollar Outsourcing Contract with Major Latin American Communications Company MovilnetCall center outsourcing solution to help lower costs and improve customer service
BLUE BELL, Pa., May 4, 2006 – Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) today announced that its Venezuelan subsidiary has begun work on a signed contract worth approximately $21 million with Movilnet Telecommunications, C.A., the largest mobile network operator in Venezuela. Under the terms of the two-year agreement which was signed in the fourth quarter 2005, Unisys will provide Movilnet with call center outsourcing services to help Movilnet achieve lower costs and improve customer service.
The call center will provide Movilnet’s customers with 24x7 access to services, products and account information. The center is expected to handle 1.3 million calls per month, which equals approximately 4.3 million minutes per month.
Unisys is providing the infrastructure, service professionals and technology required to run the call center. This services solution is part of the Unisys portfolio of communications solutions for secure business operations. Unisys has provided call center outsourcing services to Movilnet’s sister company, Compañía Anónima Nacional Telefonos de Venezuela (CANTV), for more than four years. CANTV and Movilnet are both owned by Corporación CANTV.
