Marketing to Unisys

Our Supplier Diversity Program

If you believe your product or service may be of interest to us and you wish to be considered for the Supplier Diversity Program, please do the following:

  • Complete our Supplier Registration Form
    • By submitting this form your information will be stored in our internal database, which is viewed on a regular basis by our procurement personnel located in the United States.  The standard supplier registration form was developed to help us locate the appropriate contact for you and to provide our procurement department and other interested Unisys personnel with detailed information about your capabilities and your past performance. That is why it is so important that you to complete the form with all the information you have available.
    • If your company is selected for bid, you will be contacted by our procurement department with further instructions.  If not, your information will remain in our database for future consideration.
  • Become a member and be certified by one of the regional councils of National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), or the Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). More information for women in business can be found at the Online Women’s Business Center. The Business Center is co-sponsored by the SBA.
  • Learn more on how to market your business to large corporations by downloading Marketing to Government and Prime Contractors (PDF, 48 KB).
  • If you are considered a small, disadvantaged business, register with the Small Business Administration through the Central Contractor Registration Site (CCR).  This is extremely important, as Unisys first preference in all subcontracting will be to those firms certified by the SBA as small, disadvantaged businesses (SDB).  (Note that SBA 8(a) firms are considered SDB and do not have to be re-certified).
  • Businesses interested in federal government contracts should investigate the requirements for being certified as a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUB Zone) company.  The federal government has a 3% goal for all of its agencies and prime contractors for 2004.
  • If you are an armed forces service disabled veteran, the federal government has a 3% subcontracting goal as well.  Please register at www.ccr.gov.  Also see information at www.vetbiz.gov.
  • Unisys provides information technology products and services to some of the large telecommunication companies in the United States.  Any woman-owned or minority-owned business enterprise which performs a service or produces a product used by the utility companies, or indirectly by Unisys in the performance of its contracts, is encouraged to apply to the California Public Utilities Commission for verification and certification of M/WBE status.
