Supplier Diversity Feature Stories

 

Unisys supplier diversity representatives participate in a variety of outreach programs throughout the year.  Here are highlights of some of those activities.
 

  • New Small Business Program Managers Announced
    Greg Baroni, Unisys Senior Vice President and President of Federal Systems, announced two new small business program staff members. Alecia Hall has joined Unisys as small business program manager and Craig Ridley is welcomed aboard as mentor protégé coordinator and small business alliance program manager.
     

  • Unisys Exceeds Veteran Business Subcontracting Goal
    Unisys exceeded its goal for utilization of veteran-owned businesses in performance of US federal government contracts last year, substantially increasing its spend for both veteran-owned and service disabled veteran-owned businesses.  The amount of payments to veteran businesses more than doubled. 
     

  • Service Disabled Veteran Association Recognizes Unisys
    Unisys was recognized for being a Patriot Partner of the Association of Service Disabled Veterans (ASDV) at an awards ceremony held on Capital Hill in Washington, DC.
     

  • New Year Brings New Challenges
    After a highly successful 2004, the Unisys Supplier Diversity Program is looking forward to expanding its programs and overcoming challenges in the New Year. The program will continue assisting small, minority, woman-owned, veteran-owned, service disabled veteran-owned, and Historically Underutilized Business Zone firms in expanding their presence as Unisys suppliers.
     

  • Unisys Active in Governor Bush’s One Florida Program
    Unisys was identified as one of Florida’s most enlightened and responsible corporate citizens and invited to participate in the fifth annual Florida Governor’s Roundtable.  The roundtable is the vehicle for change that will discuss Governor Jeb Bush’s One Florida Initiative “Equity in Contracting” Plan.
     

  • Unisys Voted in Top 50 Corporations for Diversity
    For the fourth consecutive year, Unisys was voted one of the Top 50 Corporations for Multicultural Business Opportunities by over 200,000 diversity business owners, according to DiversityBusiness.com.
     

  • Unisys Sponsors ‘Meet Your White House’ Breakfast
    Unisys sponsored one of the ‘Meet Your White House’ Breakfasts as part of the US Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency’s Minority Enterprise Development Week, held recently in Washington DC.  This year’s conference was entitled “Strategies for Growth in the American Economy, Part III: Pursuing the Global Economy." 
     

  • Unisys Praised for Co-Hosting Small Business Event in Minneapolis
    The Small and Underutilized Business Program for the City of Minneapolis teamed with Unisys for an afternoon small business event designed for “information gathering and networking opportunity." 
     

  • Supplier Diversity in the UK
    Unisys will participate in small business and supplier diversity conferences in June in Belfast, Ireland and Leicester, England.  Ed Weil Reyes has been invited to present the Business Case for Supplier Diversity in the United States to the international gatherings.
     

  • Unisys Voted in Top 50 for Multicultural Business Opportunities
    Unisys was voted one of the Top 50 Organizations for Multicultural Business Opportunities by minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBE) in a recent poll conducted by Div2000.com, a multi-cultural e-business solutions provider.
     
  • Chicago Minority-owned Businesses Assist Unisys with Prime Customer
    Continuing its long time support of minority and woman-owned businesses in the Chicago area, Unisys will be a platinum sponsor for the 36th Annual Chicago Business Opportunity Fair hosted by the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council at Navy Pier, Chicago. 
     
  • Unisys Hosts UK Visitors Interested in Diversity
    The Unisys Supplier Diversity Program staff hosted and arranged meetings for two members of the Small Business and Enterprise Research Group at the DeMontfort University, Leicester, UK.
     
  • Small Diverse Businesses Key to Unisys Airport Security Solution
    Small and small disadvantaged businesses are playing a key role in the Unisys Transportation Security Administration Information Technology Managed Services Contract.
     
  • Unisys Sponsors "Meet Your White House" Breakfast for Minority Businesses
    As part of the national celebration of minority business development, Unisys will host a breakfast meeting that will offer its participants a unique opportunity to hear senior-level White House officials articulate the Administration’s commitment to support the growth of minority businesses.
     
  • Assisting Women-owned Business Development
    Unisys is actively supporting business development of woman-owned businesses in the United States in many different ways.
     
  • Protégé and Small Business Partners Star

    Unisys hosted a Small Business Showcase, featuring its Protégé in the US Department of Treasury Mentor-Protégé Program. 
     

  • Hi Tech Small Business Opportunity Fair
    High technology small businesses learned how to market to the federal government and prime contractors at a seminar provided by Unisys at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory High Tech Small Business Conference.
     
  • Sharing Best Practices in Diversity
    Unisys shared some of its supplier diversity best practices in a panel discussion at the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) Conference and Business Opportunity Fair in Atlanta, Ga., October 28 through November 1, 2001.
